During Ron Santiago de Cuba Daiquiri Week, which is coming to Sweden for the first time in July, we pay tribute to this iconic drink, blending craft, culture, and creativity into every sip.

“We want to offer a genuine taste experience with a connection to Santiago de Cuba – a rum that, according to legend, was used in the original recipe for the daiquiri. Daiquiri Week is a way to present the Cuban rum tradition to a Swedish audience in a way they have never experienced before,” says Emelie Nyberg, Brand Manager for Nordic Beverage Company.
Ron Santiago de Cuba has been produced since 1862 and represents the authentic Cuban rum craft. Distilled and aged in Santiago de Cuba, where the climate in the Oriente region with sun, sea and humidity creates ideal conditions for sugar cane. The result is an elegant rum with deep, soft sweetness, tropical fruit and a fresh, mineral note. An obvious choice for both rum lovers and bartenders worldwide. During Daiquiri Week 2025, 11 July to 20 July, our mixologists have created three different takes on the classic daiquiri, available in selected bars across Sweden.
Santiago Citrus Daiquiri – A bright, refreshing blend of Ron Santiago de Cuba 8 Años, orange, lime, and falernum, lifted by a touch of tarragon and soft egg white foam. Garnished with a fresh tarragon leaf, this one danced on the edge of the unexpected.
Cuban Slam Daiquiri – Not for the faint of heart. This bold creation mixes Ron Santiago de Cuba 8 Años with chili, citrus, grapefruit juice, and egg white. A splash of heat, a twist of zest—this daiquiri slammed all the senses in the best possible way.
Candy Daiquiri – Playful and indulgent, this cocktail features the rich depth of Ron Santiago de Cuba 11 Años, rock candy, lime, mint, and a silky egg white finish. Mint leaves and nostalgia in every sip.
